Who Are You Calling Stuck Up?

I think we can all admit that it is extremely easy to make assumptions about groups of people based on bad experiences we have had in the past. One of those experiences might have even involved someone acting “stuck up” or rude to you. Now, although there is no excuse for treating anyone poorly, it is important that you approach these situations with curiosity rather than anger so you can think about why that particular person acted in the way they did.

In this video, Maddie Gardner discusses how some people perceive cheerleaders as stuck up and rude, but how its not always for the reasons that you may think!

Cheerleaders are meant to be encouraging and highly spirited people who support their team and crowd! Having pride for your team and school is something that we should all strive for. School spirit gives us another great reason to enjoy some of the most precious years of our lives and can lead to so many incredible memories. Having school spirit leads can lead to inclusion, confidence, and even life-long friendships!

Showing your pride for something, whether it be your school, a sports team, or any other hobby, can open up so many opportunities for you to find your own community. It is a great way to meet people, learn new things, and create new experiences for yourself.

Another benefit to having pride is the self-confidence you will build. Discovering what makes you YOU can sometimes be challenging, but a great way to discover these characteristics is by focusing your energy on the things in your life that mean the most to you. For some, cheerleading is who they are, and they are not afraid to share that love for the sport with the world!

And once you do find what you are passionate about you will then start finding friends that share the same interests as you, which may eventually turn into some of your most rewarding relationships!

Here at Chassé we want to address the stereotypes that cheerleaders face, but also focus on the positive aspects of cheerleading that not everyone can see. Cheerleading offers an endlesss amount of opportunities for all involved and is a sport that should definitely be considered by all!
