New Cheer’s Resolutions

Happy 2017! I hope you all had a great holiday break and are rested and ready to get back to work! At the beginning of the year it is a world wide tradition for people to make resolutions to better themselves during the new year. These resolutions can range from anything from exercising more to eating healthier, or even just having a more positive outlook on life! There are no rules or restrictions to your new year’s resolutions, so you can make it as simple or complex as you would like.

For this month I asked “my” cheerleaders for their cheerleading-related resolutions for the new year. I thought I’d share some of them with you in case you need some inspiration to make your own resolutions.

Abby – Improve my timing in my jumps and dancing

Alyssa – Concentrate on locking out when I’m flying during stunting

Ary – Work on my form when landing my cartwheels

Ava – Remember to sit back and keep my chest up in jumps

Bella – Improve the form and speed of my round off

Fiona – Improve the height of my toe touch and remember to point my toes

Gracie – Work on making my kicks sharper and higher

Hailey – Practice my front handspring so I land it every time

Jordan – Practice not stopping or hesitating when launching into my running tumbling

Julia – Improve my flexibility by stretching every day

Maitland – Smile more and have better facials

There is an endless amount of ways to improve as a cheerleader. Focusing on perfecting a new skill is a great thing to focus on, but is definitely not the only way you can improve! Think about the relationships that you build within your team or gym and how your attitude can improve them. What are your resolutions for 2017? Comment on this article to share them with me!
