It Takes More Than One Fundraiser

Fundraising is one of the most important elements of cheerleading. It helps pay for everything you and your team require including traveling, uniforms, poms, and shoes. When it comes to fundraising, you want to make sure it is a realistic idea that you can definitely follow through with and be able to make a decent profit from. It is important to note that you may need to do a handful of fundraisers to reach your fundraising goal.

Some fundraising options include hosting a car wash, selling cookie dough, or even selling snacks at a football game or event. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t make as much money as you expected to the first fundraiser. If you do it annually or even every couple of months, usually you get more business and can get those new uniforms your team has been waiting forever for.

Make sure you’re always extremely polite to anyone you interact with. Even if they don’t buy anything, it is important to leave a positive impact on them in case they choose to donate to your team at a later time. You want to be known as a respectable fundraiser for years to come.

Another tip is to direct your fundraiser to specific times of the year.  Sell roses on Valentine’s Day, Easter baskets for Easter, and even a gift wrapping service during the winter holidays. More often than not, your fundraisers will end up very successful.

And more importantly, have fun with your fundraiser! It should be an activity that brings you and your team closer together and something you look forward to partaking in!!!
