Looking Ahead: From a Cheer Backspot

What comes to mind when you think of goals? Some people can automatically tell you every goal they have set for themselves and others may just sit and wonder what a goal is or how it may effect them. A goal is the object of a person’s ambition or effort; an aim or desired result. Sort of like reaching the bulls eye at the end of an arrow toss.

We set goals for ourselves so we can become better. This is what it means to achieve true personal growth.

I have different goals for each area of my life. In cheerleading, my goal is to become my team’s captain. I also aim to make my last year my best year yet! In school I have the goal of making the honor roll each semester/maintaining straight A’s, being apart of student council/other student organizations, and just making sure I am overall involved and invested in my education. When it comes to my health I have goals to eat healthy, natural, unprocessed food each day, stay super hydrated, and make sure I hit the gym.

In Cheer and in life, anything is possible, even your furthest reaching goals. As long as you set your sights, aim, and work hard to reach them- you’ll get there! Check out this blog titled ‘The Ultimate Guide to Goal Setting’ for a bit more on goals. Additionally, here’s a cool site on Athlete Goal Setting, including a downloadable worksheet for you to complete. Enjoy!
